October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. This is a cause very close to my heart, as some of my family and friends have suffered from breast cancer.
Approximately 42,000 women and 300 men are newly diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK. It’s very important for men (rare cases) and women to examine their breasts regularly for any abnormalities. If you feel a change in your breast, get it checked out by a doctor – sooner rather than later, as it could save your life!

Hear hear Leigh. I had the `Big C' in 1999 - caught and dealt with very early. I still go back annually for checks, and was initially surprised by the number of men attending the clinic. It was a life -enhancing experience; I met so many lovely people, and was constantly surprised by the number who were leading normal everyday lives, and taking it in their stride. I very rarely think about it now, but I am eternally grateful for those who smoothed my path. There were a lot of laughs along the way, so please nobody be frightened: go along and join the Flat Chest Society. You have nothing (much) to lose. Bunny.
very sensitive entry Leigh and informative ~ Ally
